- Follow the Golden Rules: There are certain set rules for any of the papers and it is the same for this paper as well. The key is to keep reading and make yourself aware of the new words, newer styles of sentence formations and continuous practice of the comprehensions to make yourself comfortable with the time. Solving questions from the paper would seem to be very easy if you can undergo a written test of your own. The more you read the more your vocabulary would get stronger and you would be able to answer the questions pertaining to synonyms and antonyms in the paper which are quite common and reappearing.
- Hone your grammatical skills: Half the paper would get automatically solved if you develop a proper grammatical sense in yourself. This doesn’t come in a day and needs understanding of the language and grip over it. It could be attained through practice and love for the language over time. Once you do that any questions whether they are fill in the blanks, cloze tests or error detection, you would be able to handle them carefully and skillfully. Test of Active and Passive voice, direct and indirect speech, idioms and phrases are quite common in this paper and thus needs your attention for effective solving.
- Go through Practice Sets and Mock Question Papers: It is helpful to practice through easily available Practice Sets and Mock Question papers in market or over internet. The candidates would get an idea about the question pattern and understand the different categories of questions that can appear in the examination. For example in the Error Detection category of questions alone there could be separate questions of spotting errors, improving sentences, correcting wrongly written passages and choosing correct sentences over incorrect ones. This can be effectively understood if the candidates go by these sets and practice them.
